As we know FreedomPop, is a “freemium” cell phone, wireless hotspot and now 4g lte tablet service that uses Sprints network. FreedomPop uses data for voice calls and texts. So, the calls are made using there VoIP (voice over internet protocol) app. Since FreedomPop uses data for everything the price of service is way down. The calls are made over bandwidth purchased wholesale from Sprint’s network. The cost of wholesale data is one-fourth to one-fifth the price of “renting voice minutes”, and calls use a relatively small amount of data (a three-minute call requires only about 500 kilobytes). You are also probable wondering about this “freemium” service business. FreedomPop entices new customers with the free plan but then plies them with a host of $3.99-a-month service offerings such as faster download speeds. They also nickel and dime you with a minimum data cap and a maximum data cap and the “free” plans have small service charge fees, so they are not that free. But its way cheaper than any other cell phone service. A $100 Verizon plan would only cost $28 at FreedomPop! I hope to keep you up to date with all the happenings!
